Government Evicts Balaalo From Teso Swamp.

Bukedea District authorities have evicted 16 families of Balaalo (pastoralists) from Kolir and Malera wetlands for illegal occupation of the swamps.

The pastoralists, suspected to be part of the group evicted from Buliisa last year, had settled on the wetlands with over 400 head of cattle. Malera LC3 Chairperson, Mr Richard Iga, last week said the pastoralists also invaded the endangered wetlands of Kangole, Amoding and Kodike in Malera.
