Two improvised explosive devices have been found and disarmed in a residential area in the Dagestani town of Izberbash, Russian Interfax news agency reported on 30 January.

"Two powerful improvised explosive devices were found in a residential district. They had been left on the intersection between ulitsy [streets] Akushinskogo and Pushkina. Therefore, a terrorist attack has been prevented," a Dagestani law-enforcement agency source told Interfax.

A spokesman for the National Antiterrorism Committee (NAK)'s headquarters in Dagestan told RIA Novosti news agency that both of the devices discovered in Izberbash had been disarmed by bomb disposal experts. "The power of …
