Lekhnath, 29 January: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Friday [28 January] said the UCPN (Maoist) will become a 'civilian party' the day the People's Liberation Army (PLA) cantonments are closed after completion of the rehabilitation and integration process.

Inaugurating the Lekhnath Festival at Bhandardhik in Kaski, the prime minister said the 22 Jan handover of the PLA to the Special Committee for Super-vision, Rehabilitation and Integration of Maoist Combatants was a milestone in the ongoing peace process.
