Philippines: Palace exec confirms P-Noy meeting with candidates for Comelec chairman.
Section: General News - A Palace official on Wednesday confirmed the recent meeting of President Benigno Simeon Aquino III with possible candidates for the post of Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman.
At a press briefing, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said election lawyers Romulo Macalintal and Sixto Brillantes were present during the meeting last Monday at the Presidential Guesthouse.
I can confirm that I saw them both on the same day at the guesthouse, Valte said.
But beyond that, I'm not privy with their discussions with the President. I don't know who is actually on the shortlist, she added.
