Sibur (Moscow) will add 1 million m.t./ year of polymers capacity in the next 'few years and most likely participate in several of the petrochemical hubs announced by the Russian government as part of a roadmap for development of the sector, Dmitry Konov, president of Sibur tells Gig. He was speaking on the sidelines of the GPCA Forum, held recently in Dubai.

Sibur is Russia's largest producer of petchems but the domestic market is relatively small, Konov said in a presentation at the GPCA forum. That is expected to change and he anticipates double-digit growth in the next few years.
