In Laguna, 2 Rizal monuments not an overkill.

STA. CRUZ, LagunaTwo monuments of Jose Rizal were unveiled at the provincial capitol grounds here Thursday, in time for the 114th death anniversary of the national hero.

Each of the seven-foot tall bronze statue, placed on top of another seven-foot tall granite pedestal, costs P2.5 million, which came as a donation of the family of Laguna Gov. Jeorge E.R. Ejercito.

Ejercito, a native of Pagsanjan town, is also a nephew of pardoned plunderer Joseph Estrada.

Lawyer Leonardo Ragaza Jr., provincial administrator, said two monuments were built to make up for lost time.
