Pakistan president hails passing of 19th constitutional amendment by senate.

Islamabad, 30 December: President Asif Ali Zardari has felicitated the parliament and nation on the unanimous passage of the 19th Constitutional Amendment Bill in Senate on Thursday [30 December], terming it a "memorable day".

The National Assembly had already approved the amendment on 22 December.

The president said the smooth passage of 19th Constitutional Amendment Bill by both the houses of parliament in the light of Supreme Court observations had belied those who talked of a clash of institutions.
