At first glance it may seem like a performance from the nativity that has fascinated people for more than 2,000 years.

But through the thick stone archway and oak door the incredibly lifelike image is actually a work of art painted on the back wall of a pub.

Surrounded by real ale adverts and old pictures of the local football team, the 3-D mural creates the illusion of an extra room - the stable where Jesus was born.

Mary cradles the baby Jesus in her arms, while Joseph, the three wise men and a shepherd pay dutiful homage.
