STAFF at Aberdeen City Council have warned of possible industrial action over threatened pay cuts.
Trade union members voted unanimously last night against the proposed 5% salary reduction.
City councillors told workers earning more than GBP21,000 last Wednesday that there would be 900 compulsory redundancies unless they agreed to give up part of their pay to raise money for voluntary severance packages.
The ultimatum was issued after elected members rubber-stamped a GBP71million programme of spending cuts for the next five years.
