Gary Speed set to leave Sheffield United to take charge of Wales.

Sheffield United have confirmed this morning that they have given their manager, Gary Speed, permission to talk to the Welsh FA over the vacant position in charge of the national team.

It is understood the Welsh FA are likely to confirm Speed in the post tomorrow, and that he has agreed to take a pay cut in order to replace John Toshack, who left the job in September after six years in charge.
