New Growth Path wins praise from Nobel laureate Stiglitz Parliamentary Editor CAPE TOWN Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel's New Growth Path has received a ringing endorsement from Nobel economics laureate Joseph Stiglitz, a former chief economist at the World Bank who served on the panel that advised the government on developing a new economic policy. Since its release to the public, the New Growth Path has been harshly criticised by both business and organised labour.
