Comelec hit for proclamation of dubious bets.

AN ELECTION watchdog group yesterday denounced the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for allowing the proclamation of winning candidates in the Oct. 25 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls even if their eligibity was under question for having allegedly served in the position for three consecutive terms.

[The] Comelec is putting into position winning candidates who have already served for three or even four terms, in violation of the limits laid down in the Local Government Code, said the Legal Network for Truthful Elections (Lente), composed of practising lawyers.
