The AFM Cine-Club presents Le Nom de la Rose (The Name of the Rose) tonight at 8:30 p.m., at the Alliance Francaise de Manille Auditorium.

A historical thriller directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, the 1986 film stars Sean Connery, Christian Slater, E. Murray Abraham and Michael Lonsdale. The film is a collaboration between writer Umberto Eco and Annaud.

Set in a Benedictine abbey in Northern Italy in 1327, the film looks into the mysterious disappearance of a number of monks. A Franciscan, Guillaume de Baskerville (Connery), investigates the case with the help of his novice (Slater).
