DA wins partial relief in Cape toilets saga Contributing Writer CAPE TOWN The infamous & toilet without walls& saga was partly resolved yesterday, when the Cape High Court ordered the toilets be returned to Makhaza, in Khayelitsha, and enclosed in wood-and-iron structures.

The order is a victory for the Democratic Alliance (DA), which political rivals have accused of violating the human rights of Makhaza residents. The City of Cape Town at first erected toilets without walls, saying this was in agreement with residents so that it could build more toilets per household than the norm set out in national standards regulations.
