PSEi slides as nervous investors sell stocks.

THE COMPOSITE index tumbled anew yesterday, snapping from a two-day climb, as developments abroad continued to worry investors.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) fell by 0.4% or 16.71 points to 4,186.89.

However, the broader all shares index rose by 0.14% or 3.86 points to 2,765.17.

"Philippine stocks tumbled [yesterday] as investors turned cautious," said brokerage firm AB Capital Securities, Inc. in a market report.

AB Capital noted the PSEi had gained 18.12 points when trading opened yesterday but "the market's mood turned sour..."
