Youth conference to cost state R29m Contributing Writer THE Democratic Alliance (DA) is outraged that the Presidency has given the National Youth Development Agency R29m to host an anti-imperialism conference. About 30000 delegates from across the world are expected to attend the nine-day Festival of Youth and Students at the University of Pretoria next month.

President Jacob Zuma is expected to address delegates. The agency has been criticised by many as an extension of the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League. Launched by Mr Zuma last year to empower the youth, the agency controls a budget of R370m. It replaced the Umsobomvu Youth …
