Residents of Nairobi's Mathare slums will continue to enjoy safe and affordable water thanks to a local NGO and the Nairobi Water Company.

Unlike in the past where the residents lacked the services, some 2000 households are now connected to a systematised water connection that serves more than 10,000 people living in the informal settlement.

Faulu Trust executive director Mr Steve Ouma confirmed that progress of the water project was on track adding that they expect to expand access to cover more people in the populous Kosovo area.

The are four main water points that serve the residents which are manned by local leaders.
