Eli Lilly and Co to open a diabetes-focused research centre in China.

Eli Lilly and Co (Eli Lilly) has announced that it plans to open a research centre focused on diabetes in China, where the incidence of the disease has reached epidemic proportions. The centre, to open in Shanghai in 2H 2011, will focus on discovering new medicines to treat diabetes. By establishing a diabetes research centre in China, Eli Lilly will be better able to discover medicines that are well suited to the particular needs of patients with diabetes in China.
