THRILL-SEEKING teenagers have been prising the manhole covers off a flood-control station and stake-boarding for a mile down an underground pipe.
Environment Agency staff said they were shocked at the reckless behaviour of the youngsters, who were able to climb down into the six-foot wide storm drain.
The tunnel leads from the station on the River Mwldan, in Cardigan, and opens out onto the River Teifi.
The Agency's flooding manager Andy Irving said they have replaced the covers, alarmed the building and set up CCTV cameras.
