The Punjab government has decided to take 100,000MT of sugar from the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) and off-load it in the open market to check rising sugar prices and to provide the commodity to public at reasonable prices. Secretary Food Punjab, Muhammad Irfan Elahi is currently in Karachi to finalise the deal with the officials of TCP and supervise the whole process of sugar lifting and dispatching it to the province.

''I will ensure prompt transportation of sugar we are going to take from the TCP. We will use all possible measures including dispatch of the commodity through train or trucks for easing the situation in the province,'' the …
