BIOCON Ltd, one of India's billion-dollar biotechnology companies, will be investing RM500 million in a biomanufacturing and research and development facility in Malaysia.
Its chairman and managing director Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said the facility in Bio-XCell, in Iskandar Malaysia, will start operating by 2014.
"We plan to put a large facility in the first phase to manufacture a range of insulin products - a high-tech biomanufacturing facility that includes a research facility side by side.
