ASIA is in a better position to handle capital flows today because its financial markets are more developed and its regulators have a bigger tool kit.
There is also better regional cooperation between countries in Asia, which contributes to the broader strategy to deal with large money flows, said Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.
"I believe Asia is now in a better position to intermediate these flows," she told reporters at a briefing during the Global Islamic Finance Forum in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
