Philippines: NCRPO deploys all-female tourist police in Metro Manila.

Section: General News - The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be deploying female police officers as tourist police to provide visibility and security to major tourist destinations in Metro Manila.

NCRPO director Chief Supt. Nicanor Bartolome said the all-female tourist police will be put under the direct supervision of the NCRPO's Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB).

Bartolome said the all-female teams are deployed 24 hours a day mainly to assist foreign and local tourists visiting the country exploring the metro.

The deployed personnel cover two 12-hour shifts, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
