President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga acted firmly on Tuesday when they suspended Cabinet minister William Ruto, who is facing a criminal charge in court.

Since last Friday when a Constitutional Court ruled that Mr Ruto be tried with regard to a Sh272 million land transaction, the public has been eagerly waiting to see what the two principals were going to do, especially after the minister ruled out resigning.
