MOSES Kipsiro raced into the record books with Uganda's first double gold at a major international event yesterday.He again defied a Kenyan onslaught, charging into the lead in the final 400m and sprinting to the finish in a pulsating Commonwealth Games 10000m final.

Already with a 5000m gold in his shelf, Kipsiro had promised to keep the Kenyans under pressure in the 25-lap race -- and indeed he just did that.

The Ugandan surged into the lead pack after four laps, keeping behind three Kenyans Daniel Salel, Joseph Birech and Titus Mbishei as he calculated his move. The Kenyans tried to interchange with the pace setter, but Kipsiro …
