The railway authorities have accused the state government of dragging its feet on land acquisition and thereby delaying a project in which the state government has a stake, specifically, its funding one-third of the project cost. The construction of the broad gauge line between Bargachiaand Champadanga, extending between Howrahand Hooghly,was even cleared by the state Cabinet.
