.1 TOMMY SMITH has no hesitation in putting club before country and ended up nodding in the winner for Ipswich.

The 20-year-old, who played in all of New Zealand's unbeaten World Cup campaign, pulled out of the All Whites squad that faces Honduras and Paraguay this week with a back problem.

Smith will instead see a specialist to ensure he plays his part in Ipswich's promotion push.

"I have to look at the bigger picture and there will be more opportunities to play for New Zealand, " said the defender.
