Suspected Cattle Thieves Held.

TWO men suspected to have stolen 15 cows belonging to Dr. Sam Byagagaire, a special assistant presidential advisor on veterinary services, have been arrested by the Police in Mbarara district.

Blazio Bariyo Kabaratsi, 43, a driver, and Caleb Asiimwe, 30, both from Butogota in Kisoro district, were arrested last week as they were transporting 15 Friesian cows on a truck heading to DR Congo.

Southwestern regional Police spokesperson Polly Namaye said the theft took place at Byagagaire's farm in Kashari, about 15km on the Mbarara-Ibanda highway.

She said the truck had an expired and fake operational licence.
