'US recession will not spare emerging marts'.

EMERGING markets like China, India and Southeast Asia will not be spared should US enter into another recession, said several speakers who attended the World Capital Markets Symposium yesterday.

New York University professor Dr Nouriel Roubini, known as Dr Doom and renowned for his pessimistic forecasts, said that there was a "high probability" of another recession in the US, even though recent US manufacturing sector showed good numbers.

"If you look at the recent numbers, they are not that good. Although manufacturing numbers were better, but ratio between new orders and inventory was lousy," said Dr Roubini at a media briefing after …
