Sept. 30--The Superior High School boys soccer team suffered its second 1-0 loss of the season to the Hermantown Hawks Thursday evening at the SHS soccer fields. The previous one-goal defeat came on Sept. 7, also in Superior.
Trevor Rodd, who scored the only goal the first time the two teams met, scored the only goal of the game once again.
After taking a pass from Luke Johansen, Rodd scored 4:48 into the first half.
Taylor Olson did his best in goal for the Spartans, stopping 18 shots, including Isak Abukhodair's penalty shot late in the second half.
Hermantown (6-7-2 overall, 3-5-1 Lake Superior Conference) keeper Aaron Luhm finished his shutout with seven saves.
