Section: General News - Rayong authorities have placed 200 security personnel on standby in case clashes break out today between two opposing groups in the Map Ta Phut industrial zoning controversy, the Bangkok Post reports.

The Eastern People's Network, led by Suthi Atchasai, will rally outside the Rayong provincial hall over its demand that the government extend the list of harmful activities to cover 18 types of industrial projects.An opposing group, which claims to represent 29 of 33 communities located near Map Ta Phut, is warning it may hold a counter rally.
