Eleven political parties have asked the Nepali Congress [NC] to back out of the ongoing prime ministerial race so that new process for formation of a consensus government could start. They also asked Speaker Subas Nemwang to take steps to resolve the stand-off.

A meeting of the 11 political parties, including some of the allies in the current caretaker government, held at the UCPN [Unified Communist Party of Nepal] -Maoist (Maoist) parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar made the call.
