Police Told to be Impartial During Polls.

The chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission, Medi Kaggwa, has advised the Police on next year's elections.

"The Police have to ensure that the conduct of elections is carried out in a lawful, orderly and peaceful manner," he said.

Kaggwa was yesterday officiating at the opening of a three-day training workshop for Police officers attached to the Political and Electoral Offences Squad at Central Inn in Entebbe.

He told the officers that the Police are often accused of abusing human rights because they do not act within the confines of the law.
