THE emergence of lower-cost economies in the plastics industry globally has prompted Malaysian manufacturers to rethink and restrategise their businesses to move towards competitive, value-added and high-quality manufacturing.

Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association (MPMA) president Lim Kok Boon said this entails structural changes in the economy and industry by emphasising on higher skills training, product innovation and adoption of appropriate technology.
