On July 30, 2010, the FDA issued a communication regarding further delay in the results of an ongoing study sponsored by the FDA and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) "to research potential serious cardiovascular risks associated with (stimulant) medications used to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adults."
