KESC raises $280 million for 560 megawatts power plant.

The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has raised $280 million from International Finance Corporation (IFC), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and local lenders to set up 560 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP), Business Recorder has learnt.

According to a letter written to the Ministry of Water and Power on August 27, 2010, a copy of which has been sent to the Planning Commission and the Ministry of Petroleum, all three gas turbines for the upcoming CCPP have arrived at the site. "Construction work is now 28 percent complete and the waste water treatment plant has been commissioned," KESC letter said.
