Islamabad, 2 September: Pakistan Thursday [2 September] said the response from the international community for the flood-affected people was gradually gaining momentum and so far Pakistan has received pledges of 1bn dollars from the world.

This was stated by Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit while addressing a weekly press briefing here at Foreign Office today.

He said Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, visited four GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] countries including Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar to apprise the leadership of those countries about relief activities and …
