from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (FBM KLCI) stayed above the 1,400 points level in midafteroon trade despite the selling pressure.

Investors turned cautious following bearish eonomic indicators which emerged out of the United States and Europe.

As at 3.01 pm, the FBM KLCI was 0.18 of a point higher at 1,403.33 as gains in heavyweights helped the KLCI's uptrend after finishing at a fresh 31- month high yesterday.

The Finance Index decreased 2.36 points to 12,740.71, the Plantation index rose 29.82 points to 6,565.79 while the Industrial Index declined 16.19 …
