Section: General News - Major General Arthur Tabaquero on Wednesday assumed as the new commander of the National Capital Region Command, the military's anti-coup force in Metro Manila, replacing Rear Admiral Feliciano Angue.
In his speech at the rites held at the NCRcom conference room in Camp Aguinaldo, Tabaquero vowed to pursue the programs initiated by Angue and vowed to initiate improvement if necessary.
He also thanked President Arroyo for the trust and confidence the AFP commander in chief bestowed on him for appointing him as head of NCRCOM which was re-established following the July 2003 Oakwood mutiny.
Meanwhile, Angue said he has peace of mind leaving the NCRCOM, knowing that Tabaquero is a capable and a confident officer. The two belong to the Philippine Military Academy class of 1978.
