The Programme Coordinator of Women in Law and Development in Africa -Ghana (WiLDAF ), Ms Bernice Sam, has bemoaned the exclusion of many women from the political decision making-processes as leaders, legislators, ministers and chief executive and non-inclusion of women's needs in policy formulation.

"In recent years Ghana has been promoted as a good African example, of a nation which is working towards implementing and consolidating democracy. However, in terms of women's rights, this hides the reality of the low levels of women's participation both in policy- making and government representation, "she observed.
