When I wrote last month about my first impressions of Ghana and the expectations I had for my stay, I said that I was "looking forward to mastering the public transportation system, learning some Twi, and hopefully making some friends along the way." Two out of three isn't too bad, now is it?

Have I made friends here? Absolutely. Not only have I made friends here at the Public Agenda, but I've made friends with people from all over the world who are also visiting Ghana, not to mention the 13 other students from University of Oregon, whom I had never met before this program began. While in Ghana, I've made some friends who will most likely be friends for life.

Have I learned some Twi? Well, some. I have a little spiral notebook with some key …
