from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- Effective Sept 1, only applications from degree graduates will be entertained for officer's posts in the Malaysian armed forces, comprising the army, navy and air force, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zahid Hamidi said.

He said that in keeping with modernisation of the armed forces and its acquisition of sophisticated and high-technology equipment, there was a need for all the three wings in the armed forces to have officers with good academic qualifications, especially in science and technology.
