An eyesore building which was ravaged by fire more than three years ago is a step closer to being demolished.
Leicester City Council has applied for planning permission to clear the site of the former Provincial Garage, in Uppingham Road, which was gutted by fire in 2007.
If permission is granted, it will bring to an end a threeyear wrangle between the city council and the building's owner, Provincial Garage (Leicester) Ltd, over getting the site cleaned up.
The cost of the work would be charged to the owner.
