An injured cyclist who was taken to safety by paramedics on a steam train has spoken of his bizarre rescue.
Mike Mesham feared he had broken his back when he came off his bike in an accident on the Bristol to Bath cycle path.
As reported in the Western Daily Press on Thursday, the 43-year-old from Kingswood was coming home along the path at about 5pm on Tuesday when another cyclist in front of him was forced to brake suddenly.
This forced him to brake as well, which sent him flying through the air, landing head-first on the other cyclist's rear wheel.
