Philippines: President Aquino authorizes anti-tax evasion rewards' release.
Section: General News - President Benigno Aquino III ordered release of rewards for government personnel who were able to prevent tax evasion.
"Expect me to follow up this matter with Department of Budget and Management (DBM) so rewards due can be released already," he said Monday during the 106th Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) anniversary.
He believes the rewards' release will encourage other government personnel to help stop tax evasion.
Mr. Aquino recalled mentioning the matter to his predecessor and incumbent Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
