Civil Aviation Director Hj Omarali Hj Mohd Ja'afar yesterday underlined that safety and security are crucial factors to the civil aviation industry.
The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) requires that every airport be readily equipped with facilities and equipment to provide fire safety and protection to tackle any type of emergency or accident that could occur in and around the airport area.
In this regard, the director called on the Airport Fire Services team to always be sensitive and ready to face an emergency by ensuring the equipment and facilities are sufficient and well maintained.
