Bid to delay care homes verdict fails.

AN attempt to delay a controversial decision about the future of Carmarthenshire Council's care homes has been rejected by authority chiefs.

A joint meeting of the council's housing and health and social care committees had recommended implementation of the plan to restructure social care -- which would see several residential care homes close -- must wait until a Welsh Assembly committee investigation into social care is completed in November.

But the council's executive board rejected that.
