from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (Bernama) -- Financial institutions need to continuously re-examine their role in promoting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), according to the Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM).

"We need to continually re-examine our roles as financial institutions to better support the SMEs, from the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) perspective, for global competition. 2010 is a particularly important landmark year," said ABM chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar.

He said this in a statement in conjunction with the Seventh Annual Meeting APEC Financial Institutions Dealing with SMEs 2010 here …
