PASSENGER TRAFFIC of airlines of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) member states are projected to grow by a cumulative 6.4% this year in terms of passenger-kilometers performed (PKPs), compared with the 2% decline in 2009, the group said in a press statement yesterday.
PKP is a measuring method ICAO uses that is equivalent to the total number of kilometers all air passengers traveled within a given period.
ICAO said in its statement that the projected increase reflects the positive economic prospects worldwide.
