World cities discuss growing urban woes.

from THE JAKARTA POST -- WEDNESDAY, JUNE 30, 2010 -- PAGE 2 Jakarta, which celebrated its 483rd anniversary recently, might find it opportune to look at how cities across the globe are tackling urban growth and development problems during the 2nd World Cities Summit and 3rd Singapore Water Week, where were launched in Singapore on Tuesday.

During the concurrent events, more than 2,000 delegates, businesspeople and urban development experts will be in Singapore to share their experiences in sustainable urban development.

The Jakarta Post was invited by Singapore's Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts to visit both events.
